The Rubik's Cube was invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik,
a Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture with
an interest in geometry and the study of 3D forms. Erno
obtained Hungarian patent HU170062 for the "Magic
Cube" in 1975, but did not take out international
patents. The first test batches of the product were
produced in late 1977 and released to Budapest toy shops,
although it did not enter the United States or Japan
until 1980. Rubik meant to create the challenging cube
with parts able to move around a center axis. He painted
the faces of the cube different colors for demonstration
purposes.

few turns, the colors became mixed, apparently in
random fashion. It was tremendously satisfying to
watch this color parade. Like after a nice walk when
you have seen many lovely sights you decide to go
home, after a while I decided it was time to go home,
let us put the cubes back in order. And it was at

Some 300 million cubes have been sold
worldwide since 1980. In Japan, 100,000 to 150,000 Rubik's
cubes are sold annually, but sales this year are expected
to top 500,000. The Rubik's Cube reached the height
of its popularity in the early 1980s, and has since
become a pop culture icon associated with the decade.
It is said to be the world's biggest selling toy. Erno
Rubik became the first self-made millionaire from the
communist block. The eighties and Rubik's Cube went
well together. Cubic Rubes (the name of cube fans) formed
clubs to play and study solutions.
Many similar puzzles were released shortly
after the Rubik's Cube, both from Rubik himself and
from other sources, including the Rubik's
Revenge, a 4×4×4 version of the Rubik's
Cube. There are also 2×2×2 and 5×5×5
cubes (known as the Pocket Cube and the Rubik's Professor,
respectively), and puzzles in other shapes, such as
the Pyraminx, a tetrahedron. Why you should not buy
a cheap cube clone ? The quality is mostly bad and the
cube will be defect after a few hours of playing. Have
a look here, I played around 4 hours with this clone
cube before it broke.
A Rubik's Cube can have (8! × 38-1) × (12!
× 212-1)/2 = 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 different
positions (~4.3 × 1019), about 43 quintillion,
but it is advertised only as having "billions"
of positions, due to the general incomprehensibility
of that number. Despite the vast number of positions,
all cubes can be solved in 23 moves or fewer.

ORLANDO, Fla.- 1982 - A 19-year-old Japanese broke
his own world record Sunday for the best time solving
the 4x4 Rubik's cube in a contest at the Walt Disney
World resort. Yuki Hayashi holds a Rubik's cube after
breaking his own world record. Yuki, a part-time worker
from Tokyo, clocked in at an average winning time of
54.13 seconds and was able to shave more than 6 seconds
off his previous time.

Kaufen Sie einen original Rubiks Cube aus den 1980er

Dieser Rubik ist ein Original aus den 1980er Jahren.
Der Cube ist in gutem Zustand (siehe
Photo des Cubes). Der Rubiks Cube hat es schon in
die aktuelle MoMA Ausstellung (Museum of Modern Art)
in New York geschafft, sehen Sie hier ein Photo

Das Original. Bei diesem Artikel besonders wichtig,
da durch das häufige Drehen die Buchsen stark beansprucht
werden. Obwohl es 43! Quintillionen (10³°)
Kombinationen (und eine Lösung...) gibt,
kann das Puzzle mit nur wenigen Drehungen gelöst
werden. Aber Vorsicht. Es macht süchtig! Der Zauberwürfel
fördert das räumliche Vorstellungsvermögen
und das strategische Denken. Dieses Spielzeug fordert
den Mathematikprofessor genauso wie begabte Kinder!
Was ist der Zauberwürfel?
Der Zauberwürfel ist ein Denkspiel / ein Drehpuzzle
in Würfelform. Er heißt auch Magic Cube oder
nach seinem Erfinder Rubik's Cube. Auf den ersten Blick
besteht der Zauberwürfel aus 27 Einzelwürfeln,
die zusammen einen großen 3x3x3-Würfel bilden.
Theoretisch gibt es für einen 3x3x3-Würfel
54!/(9!*9!*9!*9!*9!*9!) = 1,10exp(38) Kombinationen
der 54 Quadrate. Der Zauberwürfel hat "nur"
8!*3exp(8)*12!*2exp(12) = 519.024.039.293.878.272.000
=5,19exp(20) Kombinationen, wenn man ihn auseinander
nimmt und neu zusammensetzt. Der zwölfte Teil,
also 43.252.003.274.489.856.000 Kombinationen, kann
durch Drehungen erreicht werden.
Die Meinung des Vorbesitzers zum Rubik Cube:
"Jeder kann´s schnell lernen und irgendwie
wird´s nie langweilig - an diesem Würfel
hat man also lange Freude und verliert nicht so schnell
die Lust. Es regt zum Kommunizieren an - ich finde
ihn perfekt. Er trainiert das Denkvermögen und
die Konzentrationsfähigkeit. Deswegen ist es,
denke ich, nicht nur für Kinder sehr fördernd
(wir von der Lehrerin empfohlen), sondern auch wir
und selbst die Oma wird gefördert! Wir haben
nebenbei immer sehr viel rumgewitzelt und waren richtig
aufgedreht. Inwiefern das Spiel daran schuld war kann
ich nicht sagen *g* Ein Spielspaß für die
ganze Familie, der sicher viele Tage Unterhaltung
bringt. Viele Möglichkeiten und langer Spielspaß.
