The 64's microprocessors support two high-resolution
graphic modes, smooth scrolling, "sprites",
bit mapping, character collision resolution and character
mapped graphics, not to mention three channels of complex
sound. All this make it an excellent game machine, which
is what it excelled at the most, with thousands of software
titles release and numerous peripherals to extend its
capabilities.
The Commodore 64 was largely purchased to take advantage
of the amazing library of ingenious game and leisure
programs produced. The Commodore 64 also introduced
millions to word processing, spreadsheet accounting,
tax preparation, MIDI music development, data filing
and mining through databases, and computer programming.

Unzählige Stunden vor ZackMac´ oder SummerGames
mit diesem kultigen Quitschesound. Und so simple zu
bedienen das es ein Dreijähriger schafft ein Spiel
zu starten. 1982 wurde von Commodore der wohl erfolgreichste
Heimcomputer aller Zeiten vorgestellt: der C=64 (von
Freaks liebevoll als "Brotdose" bezeichnet).
Weltweit wurde dieser Rechner über 10 Millionen
mal verkauft. Damit schlägt er sogar seinen erfolgreichen
Vorgänger, den VC20. Der Commodore 64 hat während
seiner langen Lebensdauer einige Änderungen durchgemacht,
was zu insgesamt mindestens sieben unterschiedlichen
Versionen geführt hat. Hier die Version: Commodore
64 II-C, einer der letzten der C64 Serie.

Une bonne machine, malgré un Basic médiocre.
Ce fut le premier familial à offrir un synthétiseur
sonore. Le Commodore 64c est l'évolution du Vic
20 donc il conserve le boîtier. Il faut noter
que la carte mère du C64c est la même que
la console C64gs. Seul port cartouche est soudé
dessus au lieu de derrière. Il s'est par contre
beaucoup vendu en Allemagne.
